Lavender Lovelies #000

Five adorable small 'smalls' have been designed to fit inside 'Olde Colonial's' Candy Basket:  A lavender-filled sachet, a tiny needle book, a tiny button or thimble bag, a button bee's waxer, and a lip balm or lipstick 'sleeve'.  Several of the smalls have been inspired by antique originals.

'Antique Green' and 'Antique Lavender' linens are embroidered with hand- and over dyed cotton and silk threads in shades to coordinate.  Real lavender buds fill the sachet which is 'tufted' with a tiny scrimshaw 'sun dial' and is tied to the bottom of the candy basket.

Embroidery stitches used are stem, smyrna, satin, French knots, faux boullion knots, diagonal satin, diagonal queen variation, cross-stitch 'over one' and 'over two', blanket, backstitch plus a pulled thread pattern.  All finishing instructions are included.
