Sunflower Summer #000

Several motifs have been brought together to create a charming 'fishing lady' scene from the time of Jane Austen.  This is the second design in a series of wearable 'pockets' which celebrate the year's changing seasons.

This pocket is embroidered on 32-count 'misty blue' Belfast linen using a variety of hand-painted and over-dyed silk and cotton threads.  As well as Au Ver A Soie 'Soie d'Alger' and DMC.

Simple pattern darning stitches compliment the variety of other well-loved embroidery stitches, along with several areas of cross-stitch worked 'over one'.

Bring a skinny twig - about 4" long - with you.  This is 'Jane's' Fishing Pole!
